Database Engineer / PostgreSQL & Oracle Database Administrator, 26-15026

Short Scoop: Our client is looking for a Database Engineer to become the backbone of their data infrastructure. This role blends hands-on database administration with real SQL and PL/SQL development, giving you ownership over the health, performance, and security of PostgreSQL and Oracle databases that power mission-critical systems relied on every day. You’ll work closely with the software development team, helping shape how data is modeled, stored, secured, and optimized for the long haul, all while playing a direct role in keeping essential systems running smoothly.

Location: Woodridge, IL

Status: Hybrid – 3 onsite, 2 WFH after onboarding period

Compensation range: $105,000 – $115,000

What You’ll Be Doing

• Administer, maintain, and monitor PostgreSQL and Oracle databases to ensure performance, security, and reliability
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL and PL/SQL queries and stored procedures
• Support data modeling, schema design, and integration with backend systems
• Manage database backups, replication, and disaster recovery planning
• Participate in database tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization
• Automate routine tasks and support process improvements through scripting

About You

• Be able to do the job as described.
• Degreed
• Comfortable working in Linux-based environments and using command-line tools
• Experience with EnterpriseDB (EDB) tools or EDB Failover Manager is a plus
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder, and this role requires successful completion of a background check and drug test
