With its varying temperatures and the transitional color spectrum of the leaves, autumn is a perfect reminder of our ever changing lives. I have learned that in periods of stress and challenges, taking a moment to just stop and think about a blessing can really make a difference, no matter how silly or small that blessing is. I asked around in our cozy office here at TeamBradley, for each person to tell me something for which they are thankful. Amy Albers is thankful that she found a cute upstairs apartment that allows her small farm of animals. Bob is thankful for the triumphant 6-0 winning streak of his fantasy football team. Amy Bradley is grateful for a summer of travels to see family and now sleeping in her own bed again. Finally, I am appreciative of the health and happiness of my wife, 3 children, 2 grandchildren and after my last year’s adventure with cancer and back surgery, my own health.
We call this time of year ‘the downhill slide’ because we slide right from the birthday of our youngest child in early October (her 13th this year), our anniversary in late October, Halloween and then bam we hit November and December! Toss in all of the school, sports and holiday activities and we finish the ‘slide’ into a brand new year! Speaking of our youngest, school and sports, Cassi finished her second singing audition for All State Sing. We are eagerly awaiting the audition results, likely not as much as Cassi is! However besides singing and school, Cassi’s main activity is rowing this year. On her first venture out as a novice coxswain, she did pretty well, with her boat placing 4th in one event and 5th in the other. Rowing is an extremely interesting sport about which my wife and I are still learning. Feel free to ask me about it. I am happy to share what I have learned so far.
Calli, our middle daughter, is graduating from college in December. We are so proud of her. And now she gets to hunt for a job! Oh, if only we could recruit her! Her major is different than our specialty of the IT work we do at TeamBradley; she finished with a Journalism Degree from Roosevelt University. We are excited for her and our lack of tuition payments (at least for another 4 years). She hopes to stay in Chicago; it is her kind of town. Her focus for her job hunt is a position that simply needs her writing skills in some capacity and an entry level role is a-okay with her! If you know of anyone in need for that skill set, please do let me know. It may be a father’s pride, but she is an outstanding writer. And then we come to the 2 grandchildren; Amy and I are looking forward to seeing our 8 year old grandson and that sweet little grandbaby, now a toddler and all her cuteness, at Christmas time! And yes were looking forward to seeing their parents, Sami and Bob.
This year our holiday travels are going to be shorter after an insane summer of traveling between Illinois and Indiana multiple times for business and family. We are opting for shorter travels and balancing that with some time at home before school starts up again in 2016! Well, that is the news from the TeamBradley’s Rich Bradley. On the business front as we finish up 2015, Bob and I will still be doing what we love to do; assisting clients find talented IT professionals and helping candidates find career homes.
If you are a potential candidate, we have a wide variety of positions we’re currently focused on for our clients, and we have new career opportunities on deck weekly. If you are contemplating the IT marketplace and timing of making a change right now, give me a call or email me and let’s discuss your career options and assess opportunities. Be sure to check out our complete list of open positions on our website. The flip side of that coin would be, that you are in need of adding to your staff, please do give me a call, we would be happy to assist you. Below are some articles you might find interesting.
