QA Engineer

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION: Our client, a leading global manufacturer, is looking for a Special Process QA Engineer responsible for ensuring quality assurance in external/internal special processes.  This individual will work directly with special process vendors, conduct special process audits and utilize corrective/preventive action to ensure essential quality assurance. This position is in the office Monday – Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and establish special QA standards and processes.
• Use automotive quality core tools – APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
• Develop stands related to manufacturing processes.
• Analyze and validate the quality of product made from internal & external manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with suppliers and be able to cascade customer specific requirements.
• Collaborate with other teams for product and process changes.
• Define root cause analysis & determine internal and external issues.
• Conduct Supplier quality audits

SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred with 3+ years of quality manufacturing experience.
• Automotive industry experience.
• Able to be on plant floor
• Ability to lead meetings and define root causes and determine actions.
• Understand manufacturing process.
• Read and understand technical drawings
• IATD Certified auditor, VDA Certified auditor preferred.
• JD Edwards inventory experience a plus
• Experience with Minitab or similar statistical software a plus.
• Experience with drafting software a plus.
